The Roma Hotel opens its doors for the first time in April 1957 in Port de Sóller, a time when Mallorca started to become a major European tourist destinations. Thus, during this booming time, the Roma bar became a leading establishment for visitors to Puerto de Sóller. Nowadays it continues to be one of the most popular places in Port de Sóller, appreciated, wellcoming and it has regular customers that keep coming back year after year.
Port de Sóller
The only commercial port in the north of the island, until the beginning of the last century, it served as the port of entry for goods that supplied the villages in the area. Flanked by the mountains of the Serra de Tramuntana (World Heritage, UNESCO 2010), it was isolated until 1912, when the railway joining Palma to Sóller was inaugurated, and one year later, when the tram running the 3 km that separated Sóller from its port started operating. Both lines retain their original character and are primary tourist attractions. Upon arriving in Port de Sóller along the tram route, visitors will find Bar Roma.
